Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1188384A2] The tobacco is placed in a conditioning medium in the form of superheated steam.. The residual gas content consisting of non-condensable gases in the conditioning medium is kept constant. The tobacco and conditioning medium are passed through a container (2), into which a feeder valve supplies the conditioning medium and from which a discharge valve (30) discharges it. A gauge head (26) measures the residual gas content and is located between an inlet (42) for the tobacco and the feeder valve.(8).
