[origin: EP1188709A2] A valve (22) for lifting a load on the lift cylinder (20) is mounted in a pressurised medium line (21) guided from the hydraulic assembly (5a) to the lift cylinder. A branch pipe (23) branching off from the pressurised medium line between the lifting valve and the lift cylinder contains a valve (24) for lowering the load on the cylinder. In the branch pipe downstream of the lowering valve there is a switch-over valve (25) which in dependence on the consumer pressure on the cylinder moves into a switching position connecting the branch pipe to the tank (8) or into a switching position connecting the branch pipe to the hydraulic assembly.
