Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1190977A2] The load holding device includes a cylinder housing a piston (4) with its piston rod (7) provided with an eye (8) by which the device is suspended on a cable or chain. An annular gap between the piston and cylinder serves as an overflow passage which is closed off by a single-acting piston seal (6). The return spring (5) against which the piston acts sits in a bore in the piston closed off by a locking bar fastened to the piston end by a retaining component (21) and which in the locked position engages in a locking recess in a shackle.
