[origin: EP1191225A2] The piston compressor has at least one cylinder, a fan (19) to produce cooling air, and elements for the guiding of the cooling air. Additional water cooling is provided for selected components, and a water cooler (31) is positioned in the cooling air flow. An air guiding hood or acoustic hood (15) encloses the piston compressor and has an air inlet and outlet opening, and the water cooler is positioned in the air flow in the hood, especially in the region of the air outlet.
