Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0103888A2] The invention relates to a band, especially an abrasive and/or polishing band, for machining materials, in addition to a method for the production thereof. The inventive band is provided with a detachable and re-closeable positive fit connection on both ends enabling it to be connected to a continuous band. The positive fit connection consists of a recess with a closed edge on one end of the band for machining materials and a head-shaped counterpiece on the other end of said band. The band is closed to form a loop and the inwardly oriented working surface thereof is wound around a drive roller and a workpiece during operation.
