[origin: EP1192878A2] The horizontally stackable chair has a seat (7) which can be swivelled up on a hinge (18) against the back rest (8) and has V-shaped back (3b) and front (3a) legs, the width of the front legs being less so that they can fit inside the back legs of the chair in front. A leg support (4) is mounted on a pivot on the seat support (5). This has slots (19) in its sides in which guides (10) mounted on the seat can slide. The back rest is connected to a support (15) connected to the leg support
