[origin: EP1193347A2] The road joint incorporates elastic profiles (1), which are installed so that they are constantly under pressure regardless of the position of the road joint. The contact surface (7) between each elastic profile and a center profile (2) or edge profile (3) extends from an edge of each individual joint gap in the vehicle-carrying surface (6), in an angled downward direction towards the center or edge profile concerned. The elastic profiles are of an extruded elastomer, and they have hollow chambers (11) filled with a gaseous medium.
