Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0067624A1] The invention relates to a filter bag (10) consisting of filter paper for producing brewed beverages such as coffee or tea, comprising a holding space (17) for holding a substance for making the beverage, such as ground coffee or tea leaves. The filter bag is made up of a folded filter sheet cut to size (1), with two filter sheet sides (11, 12). The filter sheet sides (11, 12) are essentially identical in shape and size, having one edge that forms the base side ends and two edges that form the side ends (13 and 22, 24 or 23, 25). The side edges (22, 24: 23, 25) diverge upwards and contain the upper end edges (14, 15) that are provided to form an opening for filling (30). The base-side edge (13) and the side edges (22, 24; 23, 25) of the two filter sheet sides (11, 12) are either interconnected with a positive fit, in which case they form base and/or side strips (37 and/or 28, 29) in this area, or are interconnected in one piece in these areas, in order to form a filter bag (10). According to the invention, only the base and/or side strips (37 and/or 28, 29) that are interconnected with a positive fit are folded around to one side of the filter sheet. As a result, the filter bags (10) retain their open shape better. According to a second invention, filter bags (10) that have been produced according to the aforementioned technical characteristics can be easily arranged in stacks (18) by nesting them one inside the other, while forming and maintaining a holding space (17). This makes the filter bags (10) easier to handle.
