[origin: WO0176831A1] The invention concerns folding knives, provided or not with safety catches. Said knife essentially consists of a blade (1) and a handle (2) articulated about an axis of rotation (3). Said articulation consists of a hollow bushing whereof the axial opening (13) passes right through the handle and is interlocked in rotation (12) with the blade. The blade can be manoeuvred with thumb wheels (14). The safety catch consists of a tab (16) whereof the free end (24) is engaged in the housings of the socket (13)-thumb wheel (14) system. Said knife is useful for mountain climbing, speleology, deep sea fishing, water and aerial sports and the like.
