Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2793486A1] Metal core contains metal or metal alloy having electrochemical potential lower than that of iron. Protective envelope surrounding core is made such that when the nodules are used to produce and apply mortar or concrete sufficient mechanical resistance is provided during mixing, and a temporary water barrier is established when mixing with mortar or concrete grains until setting is complete. The nodules have an average granulometry of 1-10 mm or 2-11 mm. Each nodule includes one or more conducting fibers, preferably carbon fibers, joined to the core. The protective envelope comprises a water-permeable shell having suitable mechanical resistance and impregnated or coated with a water-repelling material that changes properties in alkaline medium of applying the nodules as a temporary water barrier. Independent claims are given for: (a) a mortar including, preferably, 10 weight % of the nodules; (b) a concrete including, preferably, 10 weight % of the nodules; and (c) a method for production of the metallic nodules
