[origin: DE19932289C1] The invention relates to a force-measuring element for a balance, comprising a beam, which receives the load at one end and which has a first recess on whose top and bottom faces bending points are formed by markedly reduced cross-sections of the material. A parallel guide is produced between said bending points. The measurement signal is derived by means of a strain gauge (20), which is bonded onto the outside of the beam. A second recess (51) is provided on the outer surface (50') of the beam (13) and on the strain gauge (20), said second recess running crossways to the beam.
