[origin: WO0078096A2] Hearing loss types are segregated into a predetermined number of classes. For each class, an approximate hearing loss is determined and a corresponding fixed acoustical format, e.g. frequency response, is assigned to correct a corresponding type of hearing impairment. Hearing aids are then classified in a matrix based on characteristics of a corresponding frequency response. An appropriate frequency response of a hearing aid is achieved using analog filters, optionally employing switched capacitor forms.
