Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1195179A2] The system has a horizontal sliding fire/smoke door (11), moved automatically into closed position by a drive unit (14). The drive unit is constructed, so that at the end of the closing process, when the door has engaged into a sealing area (16) with sealing elements (17,18,20), it applies a higher closing force. This increases with increasing distance traveled, and reaches max. force at the end if the closing process. The drive unit has a driven cable-like power transmission element, extending in movement direction of the door, and deflected via a pulley.
