[origin: EP1195485A2] Lock (10) operated by pressing, especially a mortise lock, comprises a housing (12) containing the lock mechanism, a rotating nut (20), a slide (40) connected to the nut and a restoring spring (46) engaging with the slide. The spring is tensioned in a recess (48), a projection (42, 44) on each end of the spring engages with the slide, and one end of the spring is compressed in the recess by a projection.
