[origin: DE19928396A1] The invention relates to a device and a method for unloading and storing heterogeneous waste such as refuse and similar in a waste bunker. According to the inventive method, the refuse is unloaded from a means of transport (19) into an unloading area (11) which is located underneath a transport route (21). The unloaded refuse is conveyed from said unloading area (11) to a pre-bunker (2) by means of an appropriate device (14), whereby the bottom of the pre-bunker is located at a lower level than the bottom of the unloading area (11). The refuse is then displaced from the pre-bunker (2) to a storage bunker (3) above the ground by means of a crane.
