[origin: WO0075304A1] The invention relates to an oligonucleotide which can stimulate human cells of the immune system, characterized in that it comprises at least one nucleotide sequence of formula 5'TTN1N2TT3' wherein T represents thymine, and N1 and N2 can both represent adenine, thymine, cytosine or guanine. The invention is further characterized in that it is devoid of the CG dinucleotide in which cytosine C is not methylated. One oligonucleotide of particular interest has the following sequence: 5'TTAGTTCTTAGTTN3TTAGTT 3'. Said oligonucleotide can be used in a particularly advantageous manner as an adjuvant for vaccines.
