Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0102794A1] The design of a partial fragmentation projectile that is a jacket projectile and that is composed of a soft core (4) as the fragmentation part of the projectile and a hard core (3) as the penetrator substantially influences the deformation and the fragmentation of the projectile. Especially when used as an ammunition for hunting the partial fragmentation projectile must be adapted to the game hunted for in terms of its structure, shape and size. According to the invention, the penetrator (3), seen in the direction of the trajectory of the projectile (1), is arranged in front of the soft core, the core (4) of the projectile. The nose (13) of the soft core (4) is provided with a recess (14, 30 32, 34) which adjoins a cavity (15).
