[origin: WO0106527A1] The invention relates to a relay, comprising an electromagnetic system (31, 32) with an armature (34) which is mounted so that it can pivot about a rotational axis (35). The armature has a long armature arm (38) on one side which forms the working air gap (37) and a relatively short actuating arm (39) on the other side of the rotational axis. The actuating arm (39) of the armature engages with a contact spring (10) in a manner allowing free play and enabling the movement of the armature to be transmitted to the contact spring with a step-down effect. A dynamic opening of the contacts after microwelding is thus achieved. The invention is of particular use for relays which have a relatively slow armature movement, in addition to a relatively wide angle of movement for the armature, in order to prevent or reduce switching noise.
