[origin: EP1197616A1] A method for casting a concrete lintel over a door or window space uses a U-shaped mould (3) assembled from three sections (7a, 7b, 7c) of sandwich board. This has two outer skins (8) and an inner insulating layer (9). The adjoining edges of the mould are shaped to ensure that the inner surface of the mould presents a smooth surface for the concrete while the outer surface is also continuous and ready for rendering. The stepped adjoining edges also prevent thermal bridges at the edges.
