An Independent claim is also included for a (toner) fixing apparatus comprising: a fixing surface; a counterpressure roll for pressing paper bearing a toner image against the fixing surface; an applicator roll that contacts the fixing surface and applies fuser oil to the fixing surface before the fixing surface contacts the paper; and a fuser oil redistributor roll in contact with the fixing surface, or with at least one hot roll in contact with the fixing surface, after the fixing surface has contacted the paper.
