[origin: WO0071095A2] A controlled release pellet for releasing a poorly soluble active agent comprises a core containing the active agent (e.g. nifedipine, glibenclamide, griseofulvin, oxaprozin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, nabumetone etc.), a polyethylene glycol and a carrier; the core having a coating comprising a water soluble cellulose and a water insoluble acrylic polymer. A disintegrating agent is preferably included in the core.
