[origin: EP1199275A1] A conveyor feeds the overlapping printed sheets (3) at right angles to a stack-support (17,22). A controllable push-in appliance belonging to the stack-support designed for stacking, forms the length of a stack by means of end plates (31) adjustable between support elements (28,29) and stacks (2). The push-in appliance is in the form of an insertion appliance (60) belonging to the front and back stack ends and possessing passages for the passing support elements and driven at right angles to the stack-support. The insertion appliance inserts the end plates against the stack-ends, and is formed of two parallel holder-plates (32,33) holding at least one end plate in the at least one intermediate space.
