Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0108577A1] The invention relates to an electrode for cutting biological tissue using a high-frequency current. During the cutting process, arc-like discharges occur between an electrically conductive, active electrode area and the tissue. The aim of the invention is to prevent too high a current flux in the tissue, in particular, at the first incision. To this end, the active electrode area comprises, at least after the start of a cutting operation, a multitude of individual surfaces which are accessible for the formation of the discharge and which are separated from one another by insulated zones. The individual surfaces have very small proportions in relation to a total surface of the active electrode area.
