[origin: FR2794741A1] The invention concerns lithium-containing manganese oxides of formula LixMn1-yMeyO2+ delta .nH2O wherein: Me represents a transition metal, and x, y, delta and n are such that: 0.4 </= x </= 0.7; 0 </= y </= 0.5; 0.1 </= delta </= 0.25; 0 </= n </= 0.6 having a tetragonal and hexagonal structure. Said oxides can be used as positive electrode material in lithium cell batteries on account of their high capacity which remains stable during several cycles.
