[origin: WO0102478A1] A pre-formed, sheet device comprising; (a) less than 10 % of a polysaccharide mixture consisting of; (i) a red seaweed polysaccharide; (ii) a mannose containing polysaccharide selected from a galactomannan, glucomannan, and derivatives or mixtures thereof and; (iii) a fermentation polysaccharide, or derivatives thereof; and (b) from about 30 % to about 99.5 % of water; wherein the device comprises less than 10 % total polysaccharide. The pre-formed, sheet devices of the invention are suitable for topical application and display desirable amounts of syneresis and/or improved mechanical properties such as strength or flexibility, as well as excellent moisturisation, hydration and cooling benefits. Further, the devices of the present invention are easy to handle, unobtrusive and conform to the contours of a target surface when applied.
