[origin: WO0110124A1] A method and apparatus for obtaining a video from a network, and presenting the obtained video are disclosed. The method comprises the steps of establishing a connection with a network; selecting a video content to be obtained over the network; receiving data representing the video content via the connection with the network; storing the data representing the video content on a mass storage device; obtaining the data representing the video content from the mass storage device; processing the data representing the video content; and transferring the data representing the video content to a display device for presentation. The apparatus comprises a network interface through which data may be received from a network and transmitted to the network; a data mass storage device; a recording device arranged to store data representing a video obtained via the network interface on the mass storage device; and a playback device arranged to obtain data representing a video from the mass storage device and process the data for presentation by a television.
