[origin: EP1201808A2] A sewing machine drive mechanism has an embroidery accessory fitting (10) forming part of a slide unit (20) on the end of an arm (19). The arm root (19) has especially a pivot (18) which enables the arm to move between two parallel positions. Also claimed is a sewing machine with a swivel-arm whose limits of movement are defined by end-stops with a spring-loaded position lock.
