Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1201928A2] The disks for a turbo molecular pump have a carrier ring with the paddles forming radial slits between them, to impel the molecules of the gas being pumped. A number of part-disks are assembled in an axial direction, so that the paddles (31,32) of one part-disk cover the slits (41,42) of the following part-disk wholly or partially. The part-disks are assembled together so that they are seen as tightly packed in the axial direction. The part-disks are of sheet plate, and the paddles are stamped out, and twisted out of the disk plane.
