[origin: WO0112002A1] The invention relates to footwear with a shaft and a sole construction that is provided with a walking sole. The shaft is made of an upper material and a waterproof functional layer that at least partially lines the inner side of the upper material. The shaft is provided with a shaft end area facing the sole and having an upper material end area and a functional layer end area. The walking sole (19) is connected to the shaft end area. The functional layer end area is provided with a protuberance that protrudes from the upper material end area. An adhesive region consisting of a reactive adhesive which results in waterproofness once the reaction is over is mounted on the protuberance. Said region is closed in the direction of the circumference pertaining to the walking sole.
