[origin: WO0111139A1] The invention relates to a composition which is especially used to impregnate paper, containing a binding agent, an aqueous polymer dispersion and glyoxal. The invention also relates to a method for the production of said composition, in addition to an intermediate produced which can be used in an advantageous manner and which contains glyoxal, water and a binding agent. The inventive compositions are particularly suitable for impregnating paper and can be used to produce decorative paper with improved properties.
