Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1203836A1] The roller to loosen sliver and break it down into fibers, at an open-end spinner, has a clothing ring (2) which can be exchanged easily through a torque-free rapid clamp (7). The ring can be fitted to and removed from the free rotating component of the sliver loosening roller (1), powered by a drive (4). The sliver loosening roller, at an open-end spinner, has an electro drive as an outer rotor. The clothing ring is locked to the free rotating outer rotor (3) of the electro drive by the rapid clamp. The rapid clamp has two eccentric grips (26), which act on an end disk (5) of the roller through a plate spring (8), to hold the clothing ring in a force fit. Each eccentric grip has an eccentric grip body (19) and a manual release strap (18). The eccentric grips are linked to a bolt (14) of the rapid clamp system through a swing axis (17) which, in turn, has a bayonet fitting at the outer rotor. The bolt has radially projecting connectors (15), which match axial and spiral grooves in the hollow cylindrical shoulder piece of the outer rotor. Or the bolt has axial and spiral grooves, which match radial projections at the hollow cylinder shoulder piece of the outer rotor. The manual operating strap shrouds the eccentric clips, in the working condition, in a center recess (25) of the roller end disk. The clothing ring and the roller end disk form a single unit for mounting to the roller.
