Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1204158A2] The structured antenna (1) is provided by a conductive element (9) integrated within a non-conductive dielectric layer (6) providing one of the aerodynamic surfaces (3) of the airborne object or aircraft, e.g. a wing or aerofoil and which is bent around a fold edge (4) provided by the aerodynamic surface. The antenna is supplied so that the current direction (5) is perpendicular to the fold edge, with the wave resistance being many times less at the fold edge than in the end of the antenna away from the folded edge.
