[origin: WO0218868A1] The invention relates to a device and to a method for measuring an angle or position, comprising a magnetic gauge that produces a field modulation and that is scanned by means of at least two sensor elements that are arranged at a predetermined angle to one another and that are sensitive to the magnetic field. A magnetic auxiliary field produced inside the sensor modulates the field orientation. Said field orientation has a 360 DEG periodicity and produces sensor signals that are examined for potential phase offsets or changes of sign to determine the angle or the position.
