Additional printing presses (29, 31) are provided at the first and/or last printing press (6.1, 6.4), with respect to the machine direction (A), each one comprising at least one driven inking station (21, 22, 27) and at least one driven forming cylinder (24). The whole additional printing press or parts of it can be moved backwards and forwards relative to the associated transfer cylinder in or opposite to the printing press length direction. The unit (1) comprises a single counter-cylinder (8), a number of devices (9, 11, 12, 13, 14) operated in sequence for temporarily holding the sheets being printed, four printing presses (6.2-6.4) cooperating with the counter-cylinder, and a motor unit. Each printing press comprises at least one inking station (22, 27), a forming cylinder and a transfer cylinder (26) for applying ink onto the sheets. The diameter of the counter-cylinder is several degrees of magnitude greater than that of the transfer cylinder.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Mehrfarben-Bogenrotationsdruckeinheit (1;2) mit einem einzigen Gegendruckzylinder (8) mit einer Mehrzahl von im Takt steuerbaren Einrichtungen (9;11;12;13;14) zum zeitweisen Festhalten von bogenförmigen Druckträgern und einer Mehrzahl von, mit dem Gegendruckzylinder zusammenwirkenden Druckwerken (5.1,5.2,5.3,5.4;6.1,6.2,6.3,6.4). Sie bestehen jeweils mindestens aus einem Farbwerk (27,22), einem Formzylinder (24) und einem Übertragungszylinder. Der Durchmesser des Gegendruckzylinders ist größer als jeder der jeweils mit ihm zusammenwirkenden Übertragungszylinder (26) der Druckwerke. Mindestens einem der Druckwerke ist räumlich und funktional ein Zusatzdruckwerk zugeordnet, welches mindestens ein Farbwerk und einen antreibbaren Formzylinder aufweist. <IMAGE>
