Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1205414A2] A rewinding machine for the production of logs (1) of web materials (W) around a tubular core (2), comprising a first winding roller (A) around which the web material (W) is fed, a second winding roller (B) forming a gap (3) with the first winding roller (A), through which gap the core (2) is inserted, and a third roller (C) mounted movably to allow the diameter (1) of the log to increase and the log to be discharged at the end of winding, in which a blade (15) is provided, carried by a rotating member (14) pivoted on the axis (X) of said first winding roller (A) and protruding from the profile of the roller (A), the blade (15) rotating in the same direction as the first winding roller (A), at different speeds, so as to undergo a deceleration or an acceleration when it is in contact with the web material (W) in the winding space defined by the three rollers (A, B, C), to cause severing of the web material at the end of winding. The invention also concerns a method for producing logs of web material. <IMAGE>
