Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1205588A1] In a spinning machine with many spinning points, the filament feed to each spinning point is independently regulated by a control unit receiving data registered at the respective spinning point. A spinning machine has numerous yarn (6) spinning points each preceded by a fine feed unit (1). Each spinning point is fed by a longitudinal formation of staple filament, which converges through the fine feed (1) to the yarn formation point (6). Each spinning point has sensors (10,11) registering the mass of incoming filaments and outgoing yarn. The fine feed unit (1) is independently operated by a control and monitoring unit (12). A control and monitoring unit (12) generates independent commands for the fine feed unit (1) based on data registered at the yarn spinning point (6). Data registered at the yarn spinning point are also used to independently regulate the spinning point (6) drive, especially if the yarn is spun using an air-driven process.
