[origin: EP1205652A1] The crankshaft for a stroke piston internal combustion engine has an eccentric casing (10) arranged on the crank pin (11) and through its rotation relatively to the crank pin, the effective crankshaft stroke can be altered. The casing can be secured by two locking components (7,14) in two positions turned through 180 degrees. The locking components are arranged in the crankshaft and are fed with a hydraulic medium via feed conduits (2,4) likewise in the crankshaft. Also a feed conduit (3) for a fluid can be provided, which is so conducted to the inner surface of the casing that a torque is exerted on the casing around the shaft pin.
