Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1205724A2] The device for drying press bodies of compound materials containing hard materials and/or metal powder comprises a vacuum chamber with at least one microwave oven containing a hollow chamber resonator and a device for coupling a microwave field to it. A microwave source is provided for connection to the coupling device. The microwave oven (10,12) is arranged in the vacuum chamber (2) and contains a conveyor device (20) for moving the press pieces into the hollow chamber resonator (10). The conveyor device contains an endless belt (22), which with its upper section feeds through the face surface (11) of the hollow chamber resonator, running round deflector rollers (24), which are outside the resonator but inside the vacuum chamber.
