[origin: WO0115188A1] The invention relates to a key. Sliding cylinders (8) which run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the key, are attached by reinforcing ribs (7) to the exterior of a plunger (3) that projects axially from the underside of the key cap (1), in such a way that they lie outside the spring element (11) which acts against the plunger when the key is depressed, thus extending the guided distance into longitudinal guides (30), located in a shaft-shaped guide opening (28) of the housing (27). The key cap is secured in the housing from being detached by snap hooks (10) that are separate from the plunger, which engage in snap-in openings (31, 32). Keys of this type can be used on keyboards.
