[origin: WO0113395A1] The invention relates to a circuit arrangement (1) for operating a relay. The inventive arrangement provides a making current (ES) for the operating coil (SP) of the relay and subsequently a holding current (HS) after a given time (t1). The aim of the invention is to prevent that possible relay parameter deviations from the nominal values thereof have a negative influence. The aim of the invention is also to not to have to consider said deviations when dimensioning the circuit. The aim of the invention further is to provide a circuit arrangement that can be used in different operating voltages (U). To this end, at least one constant-current source (KS1, KS2) supplies the making current (ES) and the holding current (HS) for the relay.
