The folding apparatus has a first cylinder (3) and a second cylinder (6). A guide device (12) guides at least one trailing end of a product which is passed from the first cylinder to the second cylinder. The guide device is movable and/or deformable. The first cylinder may be a transfer cylinder and the second cylinder may be a folding cylinder.
