[origin: WO0108116A2] A security system comprising a plurality of units (2, 4, 6), each being provided with a power source, a processor (U>1<), a transmitter (TX>1<) and a receiver (U>2<), and at least one of the units further being provided with an alarm (H). The units (2, 4, 6) are operable to communicate with each other by way of the transmitters (TX>1<) and receivers (U>2<), and the processor (U>1<) is adapted to generate an alarm signal in the event that certain communication events occur.
