[origin: EP1208975A2] The folding system has a folding mechanism (10) with adjustable overlap for folding signatures (18), an optical sensor (28) for measuring the presence of folded signatures and a controller (30) connected to the folding mechanism and optical sensor for determining the overlap of the folded signatures. The folding mechanism is a drum folding mechanism with a pair of folding rollers. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of folding signatures.
