Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1209107A1] The method for changing reels (3) for a winding machine (1) arranged in a row (A) comprises preparing reels for fitting and placing them in a second row (B) behind the first. A conveyor (10) runs between the two rows and empty reels (7) are withdrawn from the machine across the conveyor and moved to a third row (C) at the opposite end of it to the other two rows. A prepared reel is then moved across the conveyor and fitted on to the machine. An Independent claim is included for a system for carrying out the method.
