A sequin head (11) for an embroidery machine has a feed (17) of sequin ribbon (19) passing over an articulated (27) drive rod. individual sequins (61) are detached from the ribbon (19) by a blade (47) which engages on the drive rod mantle curve. The mantle curve is shaped such that the blade shear action operates when the drive rod passes through the dead point, at which point there is practically no motion. The operation is synchronised by the mechanical arrangement of an alternating clutch drive. The sequin head has a pneumatic control unit with a piston return spring regulating the clutch lever and drive. The ribbon feed has a ratchet wheel engaging with a ratchet on the drive rod. Sequin dispensers may be mounted side-by-side. The arrangement minimises the time window for feed and separation.

Bei einem Paillettenkopf (11) für eine Schifflistickmaschine erfolgt eine Betätigung einer Vorschubeinrichtung (17) für ein Paillettenband (19) über einen an einem Schwenkteil (27) angelenkten Antriebspleuel, und die Betätigung einer Klinge (47) zum Abscheren einer Paillette (61) vom Paillettenband (19) erfolgt durch einen Hebel, der in eine Mantelkurve am Schwenkteil eingreift. Die Mantelkurve ist derart ausgebildet, dass die Scherbewergung der Klinge genau dann erfolgt, wenn der Antriebspleuel einen Totpunkt durchläuft und daher praktisch keine Antriebsbewegung ausführt. Dadurch kann das Zeitfenster für Vorschub und Abscheren der Paillette minimal sein. Die Präzision der Synchronisation ist durch die Mechanik gegeben. Dies erlaubt hohe Tourenzahlen beim Aufsticken von Pailletten. <IMAGE>
