[origin: EP1209293A2] The sensor has at least one transmitter (2) and receiver (3,4) of radiation, whereby the transmitted radiation is reflected from an object (9), especially a hand, to the receiver(s). The receivers are arranged in such a way that two receivers receive reflected radiation for a hand that is further away and only one receiver receives radiation if the hand is closer.
