Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1209330A1] Tubular device for depositing and combusting soot particles, especially diesel exhaust particulates, comprises a catalyst reducing the soot ignition point temperature applied as a coating to a first filter (1). A second filter (2) at least partially surrounds the first filter in the longitudinal and/or radial direction so that waste gas containing soot particles passes through the first filter and the soot particles are deposited on the first filter and the second filter, and at the same time the waste gas used for combusting the soot particles is conditioned on the first filter. An Independent claim is also included for a method for removing soot particles from exhaust gases, especially diesel exhaust gases, using the above device. Preferred Features: The second filter is coated with a further ignition point-lowering substance and/or with the catalyst conditioning the exhaust gas.
