Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0125435A2] Adenovirus particles encoding an interleukin-1 receptor antagonist were found to be effective in treating joint disease over an extended period of time when administered directly via arthrocentesis. Administration of the adenovirus particles resulted in an increase in interleukin-1 receptor antagonist protein concentration, increased influx of white blood cells, increased percentage of neutrophils, and a lower percentage of mononuclear cells when compared to control experiments.
