Abstract (en)
The present invention provides a knockout animal artificially modified to inhibit alpha -TTP gene expression. This animal is useful as a tool for understanding mechanisms for the development of familial isolated vitamin E deficiency and other diseases induced by oxidative stress (e.g., arteriosclerosis, diabetes). It is also useful as a tool for developing a therapeutic agent for these diseases.
