Abstract (en)
The present invention is related to an insulated electrical conductor comprising: (a) an elongate electrical conductor (12), and (b) electrical insulation (20) surrounding the conductor, said insulation comprising (i) a coated mica tape inner layer (22) that surrounds the conductor, said coated mica tape containing from about 2 to about 30 weight percent of a first polymer impregnant, and being coated on at least one side with a fluoropolymer layer; and (ii) a polymeric outer electrically insulating layer (24) that surrounds the coated mica tape layer (22). <IMAGE>
